Bakersfield TV Commercials

For the past several years we’ve been creating TV commercials for The Marketplace Bakersfield for their holiday advertising between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year we were able to try something new with them. It’s a fun camera feature called a split screen where you can have any combination of different images playing all at the same time. Yeah…it’s pretty much self-explanatory and is exactly what you think. Take a look at several different options for a split screen on your TV commercial or film.

More Footage

One really awesome benefit (which was absolutely perfect for The Marketplace) is that they were able to showcase more of their stores in the same amount of time. A TV commercial can run for only 30 seconds and speeding up the footage faster doesn’t necessarily help viewers, especially on live broadcast. So with a split screen you’re able to show off more in the same or less amount of time. In this case… more is more!

Logos and Brands

Another awesome feature we utilized with The Marketplace split screen commercial was the idea of using one screen to show off a name brand or recognizable logo while using a second screen to show off a product from that brand. By doing this you don’t have to choose between products and brands – instead, you get the best of both worlds!

Multiple Screens

Remember, you don’t have to limit yourself to just two screens in a split screen format! We used two, three, and four split screens at different times based on what was appropriate for the scene. Now you’re not just doubling your footage, but you’re tripling, and quadrupling your footage! This is an awesome way to appeal to a bigger audience faster because you are ALSO doubling, tripling, or quadrupling your TV air time just through showing multiple shots at once! Definitely a money-saver if this technique is right for you!
