On Sunday, January 17th, 2016, future brides and grooms swarmed the Rabobank Convention Center of Bakersfield, CA. Greeted by the wafting smells of sugar and h’ourderves from local bakeries and restaurants, they strolled through aisles of local and regional vendors offering their services to the researching brides. Bridesmaids, future mother-in-laws, and family members joined in the fun as the hunt for the perfect touches to each wedding were found. Flowers were handed out, hash-tagged selfies were snapped, and business cards were flying everywhere. Unique to A Formal Affair this year was a new “Meet the Experts” series in which several vendors were asked to speak on their relative areas of expertise. From how to choose a cake, to what to look for in the perfect cinematographer for you, to tips on using flowers at your wedding, there was something for everyone to learn. The afternoon ended with a runway of some of the latest gowns and tuxedos from local bridal shops and of course prizes for the shopping brides.
In their own words: “A Formal Affair Bridal Event is produced by Kevin Rush Entertainment. Kevin Rush has been in the industry for over 20 years and has participated in many bridal shows. From this experience he has become aware of what works for the vendors and will continue to educate current and future wedding professionals in the area!
